Once Upon a December

The preparation for Jilly's trip was almost done completely. Her feeling was little bit in between. The trip would be the longest, the biggest and probably the toughest one she'd ever had. For some people who didn't know what's really going on with her might think that this trip would be the fantastic one but Jilly still put the positive thinking in her mind. “ Cheer Up Jill, You can do it! No matter what, keep moving!” she talked to herself.
“ Ready sugar baby?” Daniel's soft voice was suddenly echoing in her ears. Kissing her ears, showing the care and love just like couple did. Hmm she really hoped that it was true since the feeling she had was still in between.
“ Sure hun, let's go, the cab is outside already!” Jilly grabbed her bags and looked back to her room. Her lovely room would be empty for good but the memories would still linger for sure.

The trip was quite good. No difficulty at all thou it's new for Jilly especially since Daniel's always by her side. But the weather was quite challenging. The winter was coming soon.
“ Wait till we come to my city, baby. You will not be cold anymore.” Daniel tried to comfort her. Yea his city was little bit to north closer to the beach so that the weather wouldn't be extreme like the others.
Jilly tried to comfort herself with her furred thick jacket. She drowned her small head in it just like the north polar bear. Her mind's still wondering around.

“ Here we are sugar babe, hope you could enjoy yourself here.” Daniel opened the big green dusty door in front of her. The house looked so big but empty. The loneliness of the house could be seen just from the front door but once she came to the kitchen, it's neat and clean. Now she could understand what type of man Daniel was. Unpacking the luggage seemed not as hard as packing. Thanks to her friend who taught her how to do it. Daniel also helped her. The closet was not that big but enough for the clothes she had.

The sun on sunday morning in the late november seemed so lazy glaring. The cold bit her to the bone so easily. Daniel always laughed at her since for him, it's nothing.
“ It's not that cold sweetie, you just don't get use to it.” he hugged and kissed her. The sweet tender kiss changed her pale cheeks into pink. The sweet morning caressed her and she forgot the cold for sure.

“ Baby, are you sure you don't get bored here?” suddenly Daniel asked her.
“ Well, sometimes. But I try to make my self busy here, don't worry.” Jilly tried not to make her fiance worried.
“ I'll take you out after I work if i'm not busy or tired okay.” Daniel wanted to be sure that Jilly would be happy staying outside.
“ Sure, i'll be patient for that.” she teased him.

She was still browsing the net for temporary job and for some info while she's writing. She got stucked. Her mind was thinking about the plan.
“ It's almost the day.” she sighed. But there's no sign at all. Not even a single word. And she didn't dare asking. She's afraid of ruining the moments they had shared together. She should find the best time to bring the topic. She got the idea.

It's almost the last week of December, there should be special moment. But the night she was finally bringing the topic turned so bad.
“ I don't know, I don't think I could do it, I'm sorry.” in a deep sigh, Daniel finally answered the question that Jilly had thought but still she's quite shocked thou she managed to be calm.
“ I don't know what's wrong with you, I have shown my best here. I didn't ask for anything. I guess I should be going.” Jilly left the room and tried to hold her tears from falling.
Her Birthday this time should be the happiest she'd ever had since she was finally with the one she loved but this morning she was just sitting in her closet. Big luggage was ready to be filled with her clothes. She was trying to smile, thinking about meeting her best friend again who's ready to accept her if something turned out bad in her trip. She folded some clothes and put them in the luggage neatly.
“ Sugar babe, you don't have to go. Stay with me.” Daniel's voice stopped her packing. She still couldn't believe what she'd heard.
“ What did you say?”
“ You heard me. Happy Birthday.” Daniel hugged her tightly. Tears fell on her cheek. She couldn't say anything.
“ Help me to get through this. I need you to be here. Wanna go to a movie?” Daniel was so calm and so sweet.
“ We'll celebrate our day tomorrow okay, since all the offices are now closed for holiday.” Daniel made sure for the plan that would be held just one day after Jilly's birthday.

Though there's no present for her birthday but the plan was considered as the sweetest unforgettable present she'd ever had, once upon a December, when he said " I DO."
